Greetings everyone! Capt. Jacob here with a little fishing-keys update. Hurricane Irma made landfall back in September, which dealt us some pretty heavy blows. Life has been surreal down here since the storm. Clean up and rebuilding has been our tasks most days. However, we are OPEN and ready to fish.
Speaking of fishing, it’s been great on the days the weather has allowed us to get out. “Winter” has started a little early down here and we have gotten a couple of cold fronts. This has brought the bait and mullet migration to us. Florida Bay is still murked up from the storm, but a couple more weeks and it should be cleared for sight fishing.
Bonefish, Tarpon, and Snook have been plentiful and provided great action on recent outings. The mangrove snapper bite should be firing up in the backcountry as well with the drop in temperatures, for those anglers who want to bring back some excellent table fare.
Come down and let’s go fish! Until then tight lines.
